This Memphis, Tn native has taken an alternate route in producing Hip Hop in the bass heavy-gangsta rap that has come out of the city. Not the one to downplay the innovative sound and worldwide popularity that Memphis is known for, Max found a way to blend the sample heavy sound of east coast producers such as DJ Premier and RZA and mix it with the soulfulness of not just southern producers such as Organized Noize and the late Pimp C, but through the sound of Stax as well. The once emcee/producer is a pivotal part in Memphis's alternative Hip Hop scene where he's produced for a number of the artists and released numerous projects as well since 2004 under the artistTREE banner.
He is also part of the CulturePower45 collective as he has released projects that have appeared on vinyl and was one of the first artists in the roll out of the first edition of vinyl releases. Now MaxPtah mainly produces instrumental music as he pushes the limits genres now along.
